Do you leave your glasses in the car in this heat?

This may cause our car to catch fire if we are not careful!

According to the British newspaper "The Sun", Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service was called after a car got fire, which according to firefighters was caused by a pair of sunglasses! This particular pair was left forgotten in the front interior of the car under the windshield, causing damage to almost the entire interior of the vehicle.

In the photo published by the specific newspaper and it is been republished by us, it shows a hole in the windshield of the car, while the rest of its interior appears to have melted from the intense heat inside.

How did the fire start?

The fire was caused, according to firefighters, by sunglasses left on the car's dashboard, reflecting light from their lens onto his windshield, creating a beam of light so hot it burned almost the entire front interior.

This incident occurred on May 27, a day of intense sunshine in the UK.

Intense temperatures and glasses

Bearing in mind that we live in countries with not only intense sunshine but also heat, what happened in Nottinghamshire is even more likely to happen to people who live in warmer climates.

Leaving our glasses forgotten in the car outside of their case but also exposed in some part of our car, is extremely likely not only to damage the lenses and the frame of our glasses, but also to cause damage or even fire to our vehicle.
