OJO: Reducing our ecological footprint by implementing responsible operating practices.
OJO, from the beginning of its creation, almost 12 years ago, gives great importance to the protection of the environment and the implementation of responsible operation practices. Thus, the protection of the environment is also a commitment for OJO, as it has included it in its strategy.
Every year, OJO invests in the growing of a green culture, implementing environmental practices and programs, always aiming to reduce its environmental footprint.
In 2022, OJO has recycled 3.38 tons of paper in Cyprus!
OJO, being aware of the need for paper recycling, has seriously taken into consideration of proper paper collection for recycling , giving to paper the chance to take another form, but turning them back into paper products and extending its life cycle . At the same time, OJO has taken care to recycle plastic, glass and batteries since the beginning of its establishment.
GREEN OJO stores
OJO, since the beginning of its store operation 12 years ago, has implemented Environmental Friendly Policies for its stores as well. More specifically, OJO has used ECO friendly wall painting without any harmful chemicals. Along with this, AA+ energy class lighting and electronic devices are being used in order to consume lower energy.
Creation of ecological packaging cases for OJO glasses
With this action, OJO aims to raise the awareness of every consumer with respect for the environment. Thus, along with offering ecological bags has also produced ECO paper glasses cases and ECO paper shipping boxes for online orders. These items are made of 100% recyclable materials (paper), which makes them totally environmentally friendly. Also, the cleaning cloth which is included in every OJO pair is made of 100% cotton and does not contain any chemicals.
Voluntary Tree Planting
With the slogan “Think Green”, the management and staff of OJO take care to make the world a greener place, with regular tree plantings. The specific actions have been included in the company’s program every year, donating and planting over 500 trees in the municipality of Engomi as well as in other municipalities, both in Cyprus and Greece.
Donation of double bins for general garbage and dog waste in Greece and Cyprus
OJO, with the aim of making every citizen aware of the need to respect the environment and to improve their quality of life, regularly provides hundreds of double bins for garbage and dog waste to various municipalities and areas in Cyprus and Greece.
By implementing the above, OJO hopes to cultivate a “green culture”, especially in the new generations, who are the future of the world.
